Description: The Plumbing Industry Climate Action Centre (PICAC) is a world first initiative that provides the plumbing industry with the latest training solutions.
This project involves the construction of a new facility that incorporates both hands on learning in conjunction with theoretical training rooms all encompassed in the one building. The mezzanine level also houses offices and meeting facilities for the staff, this level also includes a purpose built working at heights simulation area.
Externally there is a large loading dock area with car parking for 43 cars. The building has been designed to be well insulated with a combination of material such as thermo mass panels, kingspan insulated roofing and multiwall lexan polycarbonate.
The project is being procured under a design and construct contract which inherently involves working very closely with the client to ensure all aspects of the design are met. All of the services trades will require close coordination to ensure the performance specification is achieved.
